9. Africa IRL: Vet Conservation, Wellness Retreats and Reconnecting with our WHY

In this special in-real-life episode, we’re coming to you live from South Africa. We’re sharing our spontaneous journey across the globe, and the moments that reminded us why we became veterinarians in the first place.

After our last IRL episode, we were given a last-minute opportunity to support a rhino conservation project. What followed was one of the most powerful experiences of our lives. We joined wildlife vets and anti-poaching teams to assist with the dehorning of endangered rhinos, learning what real conservation work looks like and how every veterinarian can be part of something bigger.

We also took time to reset at a wellness resort, where we journaled, rested, and reconnected with our goals. That clarity helped us define our vision for upcoming Evolved Vets Retreats. These retreats will combine wellness, learning, community, and animal connection to help veterinarians slow down, reconnect with purpose, and return home transformed.

We talk about the emotions of the conservation work, the impact of saying yes to aligned opportunities, and how we’ve used the Evolved Method in our own lives to create space for growth and joy. From Africa to the Maldives, what started as a full-body yes is now shaping what’s next for our community.
